Drawing from a wider background as a former real estate agent, investor, and developer, Denis adds valuable perspective to the home buying journey. Timothy Kong

Associate Adviser

Timothy brings over 20 years of senior management experience, having led large-scale operations, procurement, and risk-management programmes for national organisations across New Zealand. His background in managing complex budgets, tight timelines, and regulatory frameworks shapes the structured, detail-focused approach he brings to lending and protection advice.

Now stepping into mortgage advisory with the backing of a well-established team, Tim combines industry best practices with a fresh perspective. Having personally walked the path of a property buyer and investor, he brings real-world insight to every conversation—always keeping the client’s perspective front of mind.

Lou-Ann Pretorius

Senior Credit Writer

Lou-Ann has been in the mortgage industry since 2019, starting out as a Credit Writer and later gaining valuable experience as a Mortgage Adviser. Her background in law has shaped her strong attention to detail and efficient working style, while her time in the mortgage space means she knows how to optimise applications to achieve exceptionally high approval rates—something she takes real pride in.

She is highly skilled at preparing loan applications that are clear, well-structured, and tailored to each client’s situation. Lou-Ann is a key part of the team and plays an important role in helping clients move forward with confidence.
Yulia Kan

Business Support & Compliance Coordinator

Yulia supports the Everglow team across operations, compliance, and administration, helping to keep things running smoothly and efficiently. Prior to joining, she worked as an Employment Relations Adviser and has built up several years of experience in the broader human resources industry. This background gives her a strong understanding of workplace processes, documentation, and compliance requirements.

At Everglow, Yulia plays a key role in maintaining organised systems, assisting with client communications, and supporting marketing and internal workflows. Her thoughtful and methodical approach helps create a solid foundation for the team, making day-to-day operations more seamless and enabling the business to focus on growth.
Sofija James

Credit Writer

Sofija is an experienced financial services professional with a strong background in case management, compliance, and mortgage advising. She worked as a Senior Case Manager at both ACC and Gallagher Bassett, leading high-volume, time-sensitive teams and developing a sharp eye for detail, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to keep complex matters moving smoothly.

She later moved into mortgage advising, gaining full end-to-end experience working with first-home buyers, investors, and refinancing clients. Alongside this, Sofija has personally been through the property journey herself — buying, building, selling, and purchasing again — giving her a practical understanding of what clients experience beyond the paperwork.

Passionate about property and known for her reliability and calm, methodical style, Sofija brings depth and confidence to every file she works on.
Lea Canlas

Credit Assistant

Lea is an enthusiastic and detail-driven Credit Support Assistant with a background in finance and a growing passion for the mortgage industry. Over the past couple of years, she has been learning the ins and outs of the lending process while supporting the team, particularly during the initial stages of each application.

She assists with collecting documents, reviewing client information, and ensuring everything is in place before the application is submitted to the lender. With a solid understanding of financial concepts and strong organisational skills, Lea plays a key role in keeping things moving smoothly from the outset.

Her reliability, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn make her a valued part of the team, helping set each application up for success.
